Sometimes one picture says it all.
Sometimes one look, is all it takes.
I really wanted to do androgynous for this years South African Menswear Week, but that fell at the wayside when I got my hands on the New York Mets colored, ‘Breakdancing Cities’ Sneaker, by Puma South Africa.
In my head, I just got inspired to work up something chic and a little extra – as seen in my Day 1 fashion week look.
I get hives at the thought of clashing colors, textures & patterns; but I had a limited wardrobe to work with, so evolving my taste at the drop of a hat, became imperative.
One floral purple lace one piece later, an impulse purchase I was worried about(pleather? seriously?), a head full of feminine curls, and I just relented to mixing it up.
The hair is by Melanin Magic Hair (a trusty, quality wig that’s been with me since New York),and is styled impeccably by the team at Aretha Bauwens_Hair
The one piece – with its muted florals emblematic of Impressionism paintings – is from Mr. Price, while the bark-like pleated brown skirt is by H&M.
Does it seem like my boobs – encased in florals – are blooming right from the a-line of the skirt?
My bad-ass fire red purse is by Colette by Colette Hayman, and thank you for the hook-up Cathy Steed PR.
Thank you so much! They are cool sneakes, right?! Love puma!
