Thank you to her and Paul Poiret for helping in liberating us woman from the corseted silhouettes and such constraints, into beautiful clothing.
In the post-World War 1 era, she popularized acceptance of a standard of femininity as casual, sportive chic. Coco Chanel’s influence extends(Yes,to this day) beyond couture clothing. Her aesthetic creativity was realized in handbags and jewelry; Don’t forget the now acclaimed “Chanel No.5” fragrance and such.
Despite her French peasant stock, she strived to become successful in all her endevours, eventually even becoming an art patron, supplying funds to support the work of individual artists.
I am just eternally grateful for her contributions to the true foundations of classic, sophisticated style. Clean cuts, pearls, demure blacks and pastel staple tones often being the prime prerequisites of my shopping expeditions.
On this day- SALUTE Excellence (-_-)>
