As you’ve probably gleamed from my post about hiking, I really don’t like exercise and I definitely haven’t warmed to the idea of a repeat hiking expedition.
So my friend Liezel decided to try a new angle for getting me active, and?
It worked!
Now, I am not ready to brave the rough and rocky terrain of mountain passes, but I am contemplating purchasing a bike myself.
Maybe it is because we cycled on flat terrain, but I did not feel like I was exercising at all. It honestly felt like a light and fun leisure ride through some of Cape town’s best features.
Today’s cycling event was actually the Global Woman’s Ride to “celebrate the joy and freedom of cycling”. I woke up at 8:30am to begin the first leg of the cycling event at the Upcycle Bicycle Rental station in Sea Point. Pedal to the metal, we cycled along the promenade, and into Greenpoint Urban Park.
The organisers promised us friendship and great views and I was hardly disappointed.
Liezel and I rocked Russell Athletic #athleisure.
Russell Athletic is an all American vintage brand – quite literally the original founders of the sweatshirt and hoodie – and I am wearing one of their recent released 2016 Winter Collection items.
Totally dig how the threads actually kept me cool as the day got hotter, and I started sweating my flu out.
I highly recommend grabbing a bicycle from one of the Upcycle stations, and just cycling with the fresh sea breeze blowing your hair about like you’re in an indie music video. It’s a ‘Must’ on any tourist bucket list.
