Outfit of the Day: Grand Duchess

The beach may be all encompassing of the depth and vast expanse of my wanderlust, but in-land getaways have their charm.

“In my dreams and visions, I seemed to see a line, and on the other side of that line were green fields, and lovely flowers, and beautiful white ladies, who stretched out their arms to me over the line, but I couldn’t reach them no-how. I always fell before I got to the line.” – Harriet Tubman

It’s a blessing to be at the point in world history, where such green spaces seem easily accessible to me…where I don’t have to fight for a seat at the table, or the lawn.

I never take these experiences for granted, and so I revel in each and every opportunity to frolic in nature. In the acclaimed sleepy area of Franschhoek, rests a rather secluded estate, with interiors harmoniously marrying country tradition and warm modernism to grand effect.

Today’s look is just me acting like the Duchess of this Manor House.

Welcome to Allée Bleue Wine Estate.

Today I am wearing an A-line orange, black and white one-arm dress by Michelle Ludek (last worn while I was in New York), makeup by MAC Cosmetics, and hair by Aretha Bauwens Hair.

Keep a weather eye on the horizon, because there are some foodie and hospitality reviews of this lush estate, nigh!
