Coping with Covid-19: Afternoon Tea

At this point, I am unapologetically an Afternoon Tea Person.

With every day that passes, and the social strife crashing in like the resuscitation of civil unrest passed, I’m just taking each day as it comes – savouring every sip of loose leaf tea, and the warm embrace of a quiet afternoon burnished in sunset golds.

Just taking a look at the Coping with Covid-19 series that comprises the landing page of my blog, I think the reality of just how much I love tea, is inescapable. There is a sequence I have, only allowing for the most minute of changes circumstantially, but all geared towards getting me into a supreme state of mind, body, and soul: Wanderlust!

I actively cultivate and nurture my yearning for the beyond of my lockdown safety.

The ingredients to my almost serene contentment, include: The glossy pages of a Vogue Magazine & Conde Nast Traveller, a spot of tasty drink (tea or cocktails only), and some form of elevated nibbles beyond the pale of my usual grub (so think bagels, dark chocolate shortbread, or a refreshingly filling cold salad).

I’m sure when time, means, and shop stocks allow, I’ll be presenting myself with a 3-tier High Tea spread – but for now, I prosper with the even layout that leads me to some of the worlds most tantalising locales, all from the comfort of home.

“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”
